Oil press base shell is often in contact with oily substances. How can this anti-corrosion ability ensure that the shell will not be corroded for a long time?

As an important equipment in the oil processing industry, the stability and durability of the performance of the oil press are directly related to production efficiency and product quality. During the oil pressing process, the base stainless steel shell of the oil press is often in contact with various oils and possible acidic substances, which undoubtedly puts extremely high demands on its anti-corrosion ability. However, thanks to the excellent characteristics of stainless steel and scientific and effective anti-corrosion measures, the oil press base shell can maintain its original performance and appearance for a long time, ensuring the stable operation of the equipment.

Stainless steel is an alloy material with excellent corrosion resistance. Its main components include iron, chromium, nickel and other elements. Chromium is one of the most important alloying elements in stainless steel. It can form a dense oxide film on the surface of stainless steel. This film can effectively prevent corrosive media (such as oxygen, water, acid, etc.) from corroding the substrate. Therefore, stainless steel can show good corrosion resistance under normal conditions.

During the oil pressing process, oils (such as peanut oil, soybean oil, etc.) and possible acidic substances (such as fatty acids produced during the oil pressing process) will come into contact with the oil press base shell. Although grease itself is relatively less corrosive to stainless steel, long-term deposition or excessive grease may affect the oxide film on the surface of stainless steel, thereby increasing the risk of corrosion. At the same time, acidic substances may have a more direct corrosive effect on stainless steel. Although stainless steel can resist the erosion of many chemicals, in a strong acid environment, the oxide film on its surface may be destroyed, resulting in reduced corrosion resistance.

In order to ensure that the oil press base shell is not corroded for a long time, the following effective anti-corrosion measures can be taken:

Choose the right stainless steel material: It is crucial to choose the right stainless steel material according to the use environment and requirements of the oil press. For example, 304 stainless steel performs well in general environments, but in more demanding environments (such as high chloride or acidic environments), 316 stainless steel will have better corrosion resistance. 316 stainless steel contains molybdenum, which enhances its ability to resist chloride corrosion.

Regular cleaning and maintenance: Regularly clean the grease and dirt on the surface of the stainless steel shell to prevent them from adhering to the surface for a long time, thereby reducing the occurrence of corrosion. Use a neutral detergent and a soft cloth for cleaning, and avoid using detergents containing chlorine or acidic ingredients to avoid damaging the stainless steel surface.

Surface passivation treatment: Through passivation treatment, a more stable and dense protective oxide film can be formed on the surface of stainless steel, further improving its corrosion resistance. The passivation process usually involves cleaning the stainless steel surface, removing oxides and contaminants, and then immersing it in a passivation solution.

Control environmental conditions: Take measures in the production and use environment to reduce the presence of corrosive substances. For example, improve the ventilation system, keep the environment dry, and avoid exposure to gases or liquids containing acidic substances.

Regular inspection and maintenance: Regularly inspect the oil press base shell, and deal with problems in time to avoid corrosion expansion.

The corrosion resistance of the oil press base shell is due to the excellent characteristics of stainless steel and scientific and effective anti-corrosion measures. By selecting suitable stainless steel materials, regular cleaning and maintenance, surface passivation treatment, controlling environmental conditions, and regular inspection and maintenance, it can be ensured that the oil press base shell will not be corroded for a long time, thereby ensuring the stable operation of the equipment and extending its service life.
